Description:

The foulpx.exe process is a utility that is displayed on the Windows system tray. This utility functions as a usage status monitor for Optusnet, an Australian Internet Service Provider (ISP). The foulpx.exe process is a lightweight program that returns data on the users usage statistics relating to their bandwidth consumption on the Australian ISP OptusNet. The icon in the system tray must be double clicked by the user in order to utilize the functions of the foulpx.exe process, as it will only return data whenever the user executes the program.

Upon execution of the foulpx.exe process, it will send a series of queries to the OptusNet servers requesting for the bandwidth usage statistics of the user using the account details provided. A speech bubble or Windows Tooltip displaying the usage data appears over the system tray icon indicating the success of the foulpx.exe process.

The process replaces the need for a user to login to the OptusNet website to check their bandwidth usage. It is also considered a simpler alternative that requires less system resources compared to similar applications that display graphs and diagrams that interpret the data from the ISPs servers. The shortcut that the foulpx.exe process provides has proved useful to several OptusNet subscribers by allowing the subscribers to manage their monthly plans.

The program foulpx.exe has been tested and will run on machines running versions of the Windows operating system starting from Windows 2000 to Windows XP. The program also requires Visual Basic 6 framework to be installed.
