Description:

The file foldershield.exe is the launcher for the Folder Shield application developed by BAxBEx. Its primary task is to hide directories and prevent unauthorized access to the users private folders or subfolders from both external and internal attackers. It aims to be a simple alternative to data encryption.

The primary role of the program foldershield.exe is to override the Operating Systems folder detection functions, hereby making the selected folders completely undetectable by all other applications as well as file manager utilities. And since Viruses rely on the Operating Systems resources as well, they would also be unable to infect the folders hidden by Folder Shield.

The foldershield.exe program initiates the Folder Shields easy-to-use interface, which upon closing retains all the modifications set by the application. On the main part of the window, users would be able to see the list of selected hidden folders as well as their respective program paths. On the left side of the window, users will have access to buttons that add or remove folders from the list. Furthermore, there is a checkbox on the lower part of the screen which acts as the on and off switch for the foldershield.exe program.

The program foldershield.exe can be used on removable media, such as USB connected thumb drivers, with only minor modification to its codes. The program file foldershield.exe can also be used on CD or DVD drives.
