Description:

The GFI FaxMaker, a data transmission solution utilizes the process fmstart.exe. The file fmstart.exe acts as the host applications main launcher. The process fmstart.exe basically initiates the GFI FaxMaker application by gathering other process related to the application in order to launch its full capabilities. GFI FaxMaker is an application that allows users to send and receive fax messages in their desktop. The fmstart.exe process is a fax connector that was specially designed for Microsoft Exchange Server and for networks.

The fmstart.exe process runs on computers connected through a network that are authorized to make use of the GFI FaxMaker application. Users on the network running the fmstart.exe process are able to use the application to transmit faxes through the GFI FaxMaker server by using any e-mail client of their choice. This application supports e-mail clients such as Microsofts Outlook Express, Mozilla Foundations Thunderbird, and Lotus Notes.

The various e-mail clients need only support the industry standard mail server technology POP3 / SMTP, or the popular Microsoft Exchange Server. Not only does the application allow the transmission of faxes using the local area network but the fmstart.exe process also allows the e-mail client to receive data from sources such as faxes and SMS messages using the same kind of e-mail clients described above. All data that is sent and received are stored on the server, backing up data in a method similar to that of e-mail.
