The flashksk.exe process is part of a set of files that make up the SmartDisk Memory Card Reader Driver, which was created by the SmartDisk Corporation as support software for its SmartDisk Memory Card Readers. The program flashsk.exe acts as the Data Caching program for the SmartDisk Memory Card Reader device when connected to the computer. Basically, the flashksk.exe process collects data by making a duplicate copy of the original copy of files stored in the SmartDisk Memory Card Reader.

SmartDisk Memory Card Readers are devices that the user can attach to the computers USB ports. These particular devices actually enable users to transfer and exchange data between their separate memory cards and their computer systems. SmartDisk Memory Card Readers are used to read SD memory cards of all sizes; the device has also been known to support memory cards of most capacities. The program file flashksk.exe acts as one of the key files that are used in the data transfer process.

Once the Memory Card Reader is turned on, the program file flashksk.exe will activate automatically. The program file flashksk.exe merely functions as a Floppy Disk, CD, or DVD driver would.
