Description:
The file flashenc.exe is the program that launches the Flash Disk Encryption and Compression utility, a feature included in Kanguru Guard application. The process flashenc.exe is a built in encryption and compression program, which now comes standard on all Kanguru Micro Drive 2.0 models. Once the user plugs in the Kanguru Micro Drive 2.0 into his USB port, the program will automatically run. If the program is not found on the Kanguru Micro Drive 2.0, Kanguru Solutions recommends that the user installs Kanguru Guard from the installation CD included with his USB drive.
Once activated, Kanguru Guard creates two unique folders within the users Kanguru Micro Drive 2.0. The file flashenc.exe creates a "Secret" folder that automatically encrypts any file saved in it, and a "Zip" folder that compresses any files saved in it. When the user encrypts a file saved to their USB drive, the data in that file may not be read unless the computer being used also has Kanguru Guard, as well as the proper password or passphrase to decrypt the data. When a user chooses to compress a file, however, Kanguru Guard will make that file take up less space than it should by encoding information using fewer bits than an unencoded representation would use. The file flashenc.exe functions in the same way as a .zip file or .rar file would, but without using third-party applications to decompress the file.
The Kanguru Solutions developed the flashenc.exe application or Flash Disk Encryption and Compression utility to act as support software for their Kanguru Micro Drive 2.0 USB device.
