Description:

The firststart.exe file, also known as the om_monitor, is one of the key files for the Olympus Master Camera Management Tools. The Olympus Master Software application combines an easy-to-use interface with the latest digital imaging tools. It can be installed and used on computers running Windows 2000, Windows XP or Windows Vista, and Macintosh PCs. The firststart.exe file basically detects the Digital Camera plugged into the USB drive as well as detects its sudden removal.

The file firststart.exe basically permits the user to transfer, browse, print, share, and back up images taken with his Olympus digital camera as well as other pictures that can be found on his computer. Upon launching the firststart.exe file, it would immediately check the computers configuration to see if it has the necessary drivers file to allow the data exchange between the camera and computer. If the firststart.exe file detects the appropriate drivers, it is then that the data transfer can resume.

The Olympus Master, along with the firststart.exe file, can be used to adjust lighting effects, resize, or crop images stored on the digital camera. The images are downloaded from the camera via a USB cable or by using a card reader and are then put in a gallery. From there, images can rearranged and transferred to a CD or just be stored in any folder of choice. It is very useful for converting Olympus digital files to other file formats such as JPEG and GIF. Minor image editing can also be made using the application.
