Description:

The fc.exe application is a system file programmed for the caching of the systems Domain Name System or DNS. The application primarily launches the FastCache DNS server program and acts as the main application of the FastCache server.

The fc.exe process or the FastCache DNS server has several features that give the user the option to optimize the systems DNS. One main feature increases the Internet speed of the system browser. Another of its important function accelerates downloads from the users proffered File Transfer Protocol (FTP) client.

The fc.exe file, functioning as the main application for the DNS server handles any DNS request made by the local machine. When the application detects a query, the file fc.exe or the FastCache program overrides the systems normal timeout for the specified item. As an alternative to saving the query for a matter of seconds, the process saves it for a certain number of days. Now, when the user asks for the desired query again, the fc.exe process or the FastCache server gives it immediately, given that the query made is still in the cache.

Domain Name System or DNS, links various data information to domain names. It serves as the phone book for any Internet related sites. The system translates any human readable hostnames into Internet Protocol (IP) addresses needed by the network equipment to transfer information to the said addresses.
