Description:

The file f-sched.exe initiates the utility F-Prot Scheduler; an application bundled together with the F-Prot Antivirus, which is a software product of Frisk Software International. What the file f-sched.exe does is it allows users to schedule virus definition downloads, software updates as well as virus scanning. These updates can be set for any time of the day, and with the users choice, can even be set during times wherein the computer is on stand-by mode.

By default, the f-sched.exe file only updates itself whenever it detects new virus signatures from the parent applications website. Upon detecting these changes, users would immediately be notified of the available downloads and would be prompted for action. Selecting the Updater button from the F-Prots main window would run the f-sched.exe application which opens a new tab that displays the last time a full scan was made, the last time an update was done as well as information about the virus information last downloaded. Users can set the update interval through a dropdown menu found on the f-sched.exe applications tab. Users can either set updates or scans to be done every week, everyday, every month or whenever new information is available.

The application F-Prot Scheduler runs in the system background, while this particular program enables the user to schedule unattended virus definition updates. The F-Prot Scheduler program also automatically connects to the Internet once the Windows starts up. The users can configure the application F-Prot Anti-virus to automatically accept or deny updates. The file f-sched.exe is compatible with Windows operating systems 98, XP, ME, 2000, and Windows Vista.
