Description:

The process file eventmgr.exe is a background program bundled along with Microtek scanners executing its task alongside its parent program. The EventManager module is part of the ScanWizard software that is installed along with some Microtek scanners. The process evntmgr.exe is the program that manages the Microtek scanners button events.

The process file eventmgr.exe supports the Microtek scanner device through its ability to analyze the configuration changes made on the front panel buttons of Microtek scanning devices. In addition to that, the process file eventmgr.exe also executes the command associated with each front panel buttons as configured by the end user.

The front panel buttons that the process eventmgr.exe executes with has common functions such as:

Copy. This button can send it to your imaging software to your printer directly, provided that the user has a printer driver installed.

Digital ICE. Handles defects on the image. Rips, tears, and automatically fixes them for the users.

Email. This button allows the scanned image to be opened in the users email editor.

OCR. This button enables the conversion of the scanned image of text into ASCII text saving its users from retyping it.

PDF. This button allows the scanned image to be saved as an Adobe Portable Document that can be viewed with the Adobe Reader software.

Custom. This is the button that the eventmgr.exe is known for. Users can assign any one of four functions to this button:

Power Saving, which basically turns the lamp off to prolong its life.

Scan, which serves as a second Scan button with different settings.

Fax, which allows the program to launch a fax driver on your computer.

Launch Application, which allows the users to select an application to open the scanned image.

In light of this, users who utilize Microtek scanning devices that have front panel buttons are required to keep the process eventmgr.exe running since the absence of this file will leave the buttons useless.
