Description:

The process engutil.exe serves as the Engine Utility for the Roxio Easy CD Creator. The file was made to check any modifications that the Roxio Engine Compatibility Wizard made. The engutil.exe file ensures that whatever modifications made to the application will benefit the user thus having the program running at maximum efficiency.

This application enables users to create and manage CD images and enables easy transfer of data from the main drive onto rewritable CDs. The file engutil.exe initiates the process known as the Roxio Engine Compatibility Wizard. The wizard checks the compatibility of the CD writing hardware for the use of the Roxio CD writing application, as well as check if all the necessary files needed by the application are intact. When it is active, the engutil.exe file checks if any modifications were made to the Roxio CD writing engine and then notifies the user of these changes, which then prompts the user for immediate action. After the engutil.exe file has done its work, it automatically closes.

During the time it was released, the Roxio Easy CD Creator provided users quality CD writing capabilities. It was one of the first that allowed users to store multiple CD image files and allowed users to compress the files to be stored onto the CD, enabling more data to be stored each time the application is used.
