Description:
The file emiii.exe is a process which serves as the Electron Microscope program for the FAH Client. The FAH (Folding @Home) functions as a client-based program that is distributed to volunteer users only. The emiii.exe process works unnoticed once the FAH client is installed in a volunteers system. This is how the FAH works. The system resources that the FAH client uses up will be sent to the main server of the Pande Group. The group will then harness the gathered system resources from the volunteer users into the main frame system of the Pande Lab. The gathered resources will be processed to help generate a highly graphical interface of the protein binding and accumulate the desired outcome.
Electron Microscope (EM) or the process emiii.exe is a program that is used to trace the entire distributed computing program client called Folding @Home (FAH) Client. The file emiii.exe basically monitors 50 other clients and then notifies the user concerning each clients progress. The emiii.exe process is capable of running the FAH Client in stealth mode. This program is also able to monitor the progress of FAH Clients installed on other computers that share the same network.
The emiii.exe process starts automatically when users turn on their system. Leaving this file to reside in the system or manually disabling it would be fine, as long as the user is aware that the FAH (Folding at Home) Client is installed in the system and does not want to use the FAH software.
Pande Lab is a group of researchers and analysts supervised by Professor Vijay Pande under the University of Stanford Chemistry department in the year 2000.
