Description:

The process file edexter.exe mainly launches the eDexter application. The edexter.exe process can be manually activated when starting the browser. The edexter.exe program or eDexter application functions as a web-filtering program that can be acquired free from the developers homepage. Basically, the process edexter.exe blocks advertisement windows or pop ups from interrupting the user while browsing over the Internet.

The eDexter application or edexter.exe process acts as a local-only HTTP server on the users computer. It is used to filter the empty boxes that occur when a user applies the Hosts file in order to block ads that pop up on the users PC. The process file edexter.exe puts one of its own images into the pop-up box that was occupied by the ad. With the use of the process file edexter.exe, the users browser will not have large, empty boxes and will instead have an image where the box is supposed to be. Pyrenean's concept of a local-only personal image web server prevents browser errors and uses GIF images to replace annoying flashing banner ads from filtered sites.

The eDexter application or edexter.exe web-filtering program runs invisibly in the background of the system while an Internet connection is active. The program edexter.exe operates automatically once an Internet browser is launched or is utilized by the user.
