The process dlactrlw.exe supports the Sonic CD/DVD Burning Software. The dlactrlw.exe program acts as the Drive Letter Access Component utility, which is included in the Sonic CD/DVD Burning Software. This process enables the user to drag and drop files from Windows Explorer straight onto the drive letter corresponding to the user CD/ DVD-Writer, or to save files directly onto CD/DVD from Windows programs. The program file dlactrlw.exe writes the files onto the CD/ DVD as the user copies the files from the computer.
The program dlactrlw.exe has a Make Compatible feature that creates CDs and DVDs in Universal Data Format (UDF) so that the user can rest assured that they will be able to use the CDs and DVDs created with Sonic DLA. The file dlactrlw.exe is also known as Sonics Drive Letter Access component.
The system tray icon that allows the drag and drop feature can be enabled or disabled without causing any harm to the system. Many Sonic CD and DVD burning software applications such as RecordNow automatically install the file dlactrlw.exe. The Sonic Drive Letter Access component is made by Sonic Solutions. Another term used for this program is Drive Letter Access Component and is found on the product Sonic DLA.
In packet writing, the only guarantee that the user can have is that the file will be able to read the CDs/ DVDs in the same drive in which it was created; there is no guarantee that it will be able to be read in another computer. Sonic Drive Letter Access prevents the trouble of packet writing through the use of its main feature.
This is a safe process. There is no necessity to remove this process from your system or change it in any way.
