The file ditask.exe is a part of a set of files that comprise the Eicon Networks ISDN/ ADSL modem utilities created by the networking solutions provider Dialogic. The programs included in this utility pack range from troubleshooting applications to diagnostic software, as well as the basic driver files needed for the hardware. The program file ditask.exe is particularly responsible for launching the Eicon modem system tray icon.
The process ditask.exe is typically set to run upon system startup. The system tray icon the program ditask.exe initiates would be used to monitor fluctuations and the health of the connection status of the installed modem. Once the connection is strong, the icon would remain in its animated status. The icon turns red when the connection is interrupted. Likewise, the file ditask.exe also informs the user whether the phone line the modem is connected to be currently busy. The file ditask.exe tray icon also notifies the user of any incoming or outgoing calls that may disrupt the network connection. The application works in conjunction with the Operating Systems default network monitoring programs as well as other network-related applications such as firewalls and port blocking programs.
The Eicon Networks ISDN/ ADSL modem utilities can be acquired through either an installer disc accompanying the hardware itself, or though downloading the utility pack (and possibly stand-alone versions of any of its components) through various hardware drivers hosting websites.
The developer behind the Eicon tray utility, Dialogic, has also been known to provide useful networking solutions through the use of VoIP technology. They currently have a strong partnership with Avaya, a widely known communication solutions provider.
