The application Maxtor OneTouch makes use of the process combobutton.exe to perform its functions. The combobutton.exe process file runs automatically when the Maxtor External Hard drive is plugged in. The user can decide whether to configure the program to automatically initiate upon startup, and if it can be enabled or disabled on the system menu. The application itself can be manually started as well based on user preferences.

The combobutton.exe process and its mother application do not have a System Tray icon. This means the installer of the main application does not drop a System Tray icon that can act as a combobutton.exe file shortcut to the main application window of the parent program.

The application Maxtor One Touch and the file combobutton.exe work together as an added utility to the Maxtor External Hard Drive. The Maxtor External Hard Drive is an instant back-up system. The program allows the user to touch one button to instantly back up user-specified files. The hard drive uses a USB 2.0 connection and an external hard drive with a capacity ranging from 250GB up to 750GB. The program features an easy-to-use interface. Simply connect the USB to a computer and the application will automatically be displayed on your screen. This is because the combobutton.exe process is called by the USB port driver components whenever the associated hardware device is connected to the machine where the combobutton.exe process and its parent application are installed.
