Description:

The cgserver.exe process is found in computer systems that are connected to the Internet via an Eicon Networks ISSN or ADSL modem. It is part of the installation of these devices and provides a degree of support to the modems processes. The cgserver.exe program runs the Call Guard Server application, in which the process monitors the modem device. The process performs its tasks in the background, without making the user aware of its continuous function and starts at once when the computer is turned on. The cgserver.exe program opens a graphical interface that allows users to access the modems current status as well as its properties.

The developer of the cgserver.exe file, Eicon Networks, specializes in networking tools as well as files such as the cgserver.exe, with the goal of enabling users to guard and protect their modems activities. Embedded malicious files can cause unauthorized calls in the system. The cgserver.exe application prevents this issue by sending commands to the modem to block incoming and outgoing calls.
