Description:

The Conexant Modem Service utility uses the program carpserv.exe as an executable process file. The process carpserv.exe is normally installed along with other files that make up the hardware driver for Conexant modems. The file carpserv.exe in particular enables the computer to decode the incoming transmissions from the modem device, and convert the data to audio in order to allow the user to listen to the actual dial-up process.

The process carpserv.exe is a process that is usually initiated alongside other Windows startup processes. Typically, the file carpserv.exe file can be found in the program path [ C:\ Windows\ System32 ] and can also be accessed manually through the hardware configuration settings. The process carpserv.exe typically runs with a window showing the dial-up Internet connection status.

The main function of the carpserv.exe process is to alert the user of the modems activities. This is done by giving the user auditory cues that the modem is trying to connect to the Internet. The application sends signals to the internal modem speaker so that the familiar dial-up sounds are heard when the modem is connecting to the Internet.
