Description:

The process bpudfmon.exe is related to Micro Solutions CD-RW external back up drives. The bpudfmon.exe process is also associated with the Back Pack CD-RW hardware driver which operates the CD-RW external device. This device uses a USB 2.0 connection (which is backwards compatible to a regular USB port) in order to function properly.

On startup, the drivers together with the bpudfmon.exe process load automatically so that the system can recognize the external device and make it functional. The bpudfmon.exe process initially uses about 237Kb of Random Access memory resources. It can be enabled or disabled, depending on the end-users preferred setting from the system configurations menu.

Not only does the file bpudfmon.exe associate with the device driver, but it also incorporates itself with the Micro Solutions Backpack packet writing software (similar to burning software such as NERO). The bpudfmon.exe file is considered to be safe to the operation of the computer. Terminating this bpudfmon.exe process would affect the stability of the external device and could cause the device driver and the packet writing software to malfunction.

The Micro Solutions Backpack application, which is related to the process bpudfmon.exe, is an application bundled with the Micro Solutions CD-RW drive package. It is available only to systems running Windows 95, 98, and Windows Millennium Edition. This application software should be used as a default program to operate the external device. Although other Burning Software can be used as a substitute, some of the programs may not work due to software compatibility issues.
