Description:

The process bhocop.exe is the main program of the ZDNets BHO (Browser Helper Object) Cop. The process bhocop.exe works literally like a Browser Helper Object (BHO) cop by informing the users of the BHOs that are detected in the computer system. With this function, the process bhocop.exe is able to diagnose and repair problems caused by Browser Helper Objects by disabling them temporarily from the system.

BHOs are coded programs utilized by Internet browsers, since the time Internet Explorer 4 came out, as a special type of added integration to the browser. As this is a coded program, some BHOs could be defectively written by its author and could, therefore cause problems to the user such as causing Internet Explorer to crash. Windows does not have notification reports of installed BHOs in a users computer and this would lead to unknown causes for a crash when a BHO conflicts with other BHOs. This is mainly due to the fact that most BHOs have no user interface to represent themselves; this is where the process bhocop.exe comes in.

The process file bhocop.exe is able to solve these problems by allowing the users to set different BHO configurations at a time. In cases that the a written BHO is precoded to automatically re-enable itself during Windows startup even after being disabled by the user, the process bhocop.exe prevents it from reconfiguring itself by restoring the computer system to its most recent setting after disabling the defective BHO at each time that Windows is prompted to start up.

In some cases that a BHO is not installed correctly in the system, the process file bhocop.exe is able to alert the user of the existing problems and allows him or her to clear the defective BHO from the system.
