This chipset is the Aureal Vortex audio accelerator chipset, which is used in several sound cards. The au30setp.exe file is used by the installer of the mother application in order to place an icon in the System Tray. This icon enables the easy configuration of the sound cards settings. The process enables users to access the chipset configurations directly instead of accessing the entire sound card. Settings such as speaker set-up, room settings and volume can be altered to the users preference. The application is included in the purchase of the soundcards and can be uninstalled manually if the user plans to immediately install a new sound card on the machine. This can be done via the Add/Remove Program option in the Control Panel.
