Thank you. The MS fix worked. Still...they ought to provide a short explanation as to what steps one is taking.

This post was very helpfull. I had the same problem, the error 1610. It happened with an entirely different application, that I had previously unistalled and now was trying to install again.

I check the Event Viewer, on Vista, and found out what the key was. Then I did like you said, went to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\CLASSES\INSTALLER and deleted the key both in features and in products.

Thank you so much for your tip. My problem is solved.
Best regards,
nuno

Did you try:
Here’s another situation: What if you deleted a message on Facebook and want to recover it? If you have the original email notification that Facebook sent you, open that notification and scroll down to the section that says, “To reply to this message, follow the link below” and then click the link. Since the message has been deleted, you won’t see it; however, a new link will be provided labeled, “Show deleted thread.” Click the link and view the deleted message.

As far as I know, that's the only way. Any other Facebook readers know of another option?

Recently I bought a laptop that have Windows 98 . I want to change to Windows XP (I bought a CD). Exist the possibility that if I intstalled Windows XP that the laptop do not recognize for example the 56 Kb modem, cd drives, usb ports, etc.? If so, how can I installed the software for this drives if I do not have the disks for them?
Thank You
