Nokia ConnAPPI.dll Not Found

Is your computer an Open Invitation for HACKERS? Download free version of Sparktrust Inspector to identify vulnerabilities and problems on your computer (and even your WEBSITES)!

When I try to install Nokia PC Suite it displays a "connAPPI.dll files not found" error.

Celeste Stewart

Nokia PC Suite and ConnAPPI.dll Files

The Nokia PC Suite is used as a means of communication between a computer and a Nokia phone. For example, the Adobe Photo Downloader uses the Nokia PC Suite to communicate with Nokia phones and download photos from the phone.

Installing Nokia PC Suite

Since this error appears when installing the Nokia PC Suite, it's possible that the installation program you have has a corrupt connAPPI.dll file. Try going to Nokia's website and downloading a fresh copy of the Nokia PC Suite software. Before you attempt the installation, go into Add and Remove Programs and remove any prior Nokia PC Suite installations if any appear.

Safe Mode Software Installation

Some software can be installed when your computer is in Safe Mode while other programs can't. If for some reason you are trying to install the Nokia PC Suite in Safe Mode, it's worth trying it in normal mode instead. The reverse may also be beneficial. If you were trying to install the software in normal mode, try installing it in Safe Mode to ensure that nothing interferes with the installation.

Update Windows

Windows Updates often include patches and DLL files for popular programs and devices. Make sure that your computer has the latest Windows updates. To update Windows, go to Start > Control Panel > Windows Update and click on Check for Updates. Your computer will download and install updates. You will need to restart your computer after.

Since the problem is occurring during installation, your best bet is to visit Nokia and download a fresh copy of the Nokia PC Suite.

Restoring DLL without a CD

I have an issue with missing oleaut32.dll not allowing the laptop to boot. However, I don't have a CD or CD drive. I do have 3 USB drives. How can I fix my problem?Susan Keenan

The oleaut32.dll file is important and without it, your laptop won't boot up. It would be much easier to address the problem of a missing oleaut32.dll with a CD and CD drive available. However, if you can access another computer and research the necessary steps for the method you choose, you might be able to fix the missing DLL error.

Booting into Safe Mode to Get Around Startup Errors

Quite often, booting up into Safe Mode does not work on the first try. It is important to go through the motions several times in your efforts to get past the startup error and get your laptop up and running. Safe Mode does not use the oleaut32.dll, which is why you can boot up in Safe Mode even when the computer is missing the oleaut32.dll.

Replacing the Oleaut32.dll

If you can get into Safe Mode with Internet access, download the oleaut32.dll from a reputable source online. Scan the file for viruses to ensure that it is not going to put your laptop at risk. Install the oleaut32.dll file.

Creating a Bootable USB Key

Since you have access to USB ports, you can create a bootable USB key that you can use to boot up the laptop. This isn't going to be an easy or simple task since you don't have access to a bootable CD that you can copy to your USB stick. Borrow a computer from a friend to create your bootable USB key.

Windows Vista and 7 Users and the System Repair Disc

If you are fortunate to be using Windows Vista or Windows 7, it might be possible for you to repair your operating system simply by borrowing a Windows System Repair Disc and computer with both a CD drive and a USB drive. You'll need to copy the Windows System Repair Disc to your USB stick. Now comes the hard part. You need to change your laptop's boot up mode to USB drive. In order to do so, you need to get into the BIOS to switch this method of booting up. Please note that the repair disc/USB does not reinstall your operating system. It can only be used to repair it.

Unable to Open Sapsesedo.dll

After opening my desktop, a warning window pops up with a red and white message saying, "‘X’ Unable to open module…. C:WINDOWSapsesedo.dll." If this is an easy fix, please share with me.

Unfortunately, I cannot find any information on the apsesedo.dll. I can only assume that it is a recently created or uncommonly used DLL. I can offer a few troubleshooting strategies to help you resolve this DLL error.

Susan Keenan

 DLL Errors

Most likely, either one of the programs that you are using isn’t working properly or you have some form of malware on your computer. Try the following suggestions to see if you can resolve the problem of not being able to open sapsesedo.dll.

Start Up with “Last Known Good Configuration”

One of the first steps you can take is to start your computer up with its “Last Known Good Configuration.” This should allow you to use the computer with the settings it had prior to the DLL problem. Power up the computer, press the “F8” key repeatedly until the computer boots to a screen where you can select the option “Last Known Good Configuration.”

 Boot Up with Installation Disk

If you are still having problems with DLL error messages, try booting up with the installation disk for the computer (if you have it). To do so, turn the power on, insert the installation disk into the CD drive, and hit the “F1” key on the keyboard to bring up the screen that allows you to change the boot up option to CD drive.

 Clean the Registry

If the problem still exists, use a reliable registry cleaner such as RegCure to clean the computer’s registry in hopes of setting things right. Registry cleaners are good at repairing broken files.

 New Software Issue

Did you recently install new software? It is possible that the software hasn’t been installed properly. Try uninstalling and reinstalling the software in hopes of fixing the DLL error.

 Scan for Spyware and Viruses

It is possible that your computer has been infected with some type of computer virus. Use a reliable anti-virus application to scan your computer so that you can remove any infection that could be causing the problem. If you already have an anti-virus application, make sure that you up date it first before using it. If you don’t have an anti-virus application, I can recommend Anti-Virus PLUS.

Magendi. DLL File

When I start my PC, I get an error message "cannot find magendi.dll." Where can I find this DLL and how do I download it (I use XP)?Celeste Stewart

What is Magendi.DLL?

Unfortunately, very little is known about the Magendi.dll file at this time. When performing a Google search for this DLL file, only one result appeared dated a few weeks ago. According to the Prevx.com "File Investigation Report" for Magendi.dll, this file is categorized as malicious and was first reported on December 5, 2010 in the United States. This really doesn't tell us much. Whether or not the file is malicious, it's hard to say based on the lack of information about this file.

What are DLL Files?

DLL files are like building blocks for software developers. Rather than creating programs completely from scratch, developers use blocks of existing code to accomplish common tasks. These blocks of code are often in the form of Dynamic Link Library (DLL) files. These files reside on your computer and whenever a program needs to run a particular function that relies on the DLL file, it runs the function by calling up the related DLL file. When the needed DLL file is missing, program errors appear. Since your DLL error loads at startup, it's likely related to one of the programs that loads at startup (which could include a malicious program that you're unaware of).

Why do DLL Files Disappear?

DLL files can disappear for any number of reasons including damage from an unexpected shutdown, the installation of new programs that replace older versions of DLLs with newer ones, and unintended deletions such as uninstalling a program and all of its "no longer needed" system files.

Restoring Windows with System Protection/Restore

If your computer has System Protection enabled, it periodically takes snapshots of the system's most important settings, including DLL files. This is one of the best ways to recover from a missing DLL file because you can rollback your system files to an earlier date in time - back when everything was functioning correctly. System Restore does not erase your data but you may need to reinstall a few programs and devices if they were installed after the restore point. You will also need to update your operating system and antivirus programs after the restore. To restore your system, go to Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore and follow the prompts to restore your system to an earlier point in time.

If you do not have System Protection enabled, think about any recent changes to your system or try launching programs individually to determine which program or device is generating the error. If you can figure out which program or device needs the file, reinstalling the program or device will reinstall the missing Magendi.dll file.

Missing DLL Files and OQAQUGAR DLL File Missing

I am getting a error upon booting up my laptop "error loading c:windowskbdsnb.dll." However when I search for that dll on the net, it does not seem to exist? What is this error and how do I fix it? Also, I get an error message on start up of computer indicating oqaqugar.dll can't be found. Ever heard of this? What do I do?Susan Keenan

In many cases, missing dll files are relatively new ones when information on them cannot be discovered through a basic internet search. This could mean that the dll is part of a malware application that is trying to disguise itself or it may be part of a relatively new software application.

Missing DLL File Windowskbdsnb

It is possible that your missing dll file Windowskbdsnb is related to HP software, a virus, or some other program. If you are using HP, then the file could be a legitimate one. However, it would probably look like kdbstub instead of kbdsnb. Therefore, it is easy to imagine that this dll error might actually be related to a virus infection that was either partially removed or remains resident on your computer. A variety of malware have been know to attempt to hide themselves simply by parading around with a dll that resembles a dll from a reputable program.

OQAQUGAR DLL File Missing

A search for the OQAQUGAR DLL File brings up nothing using several different search engines. This would suggest that it is either a relatively new file or a small one that is used rarely. It is possible that the dll file has been created by a recent application that you have installed and subsequently uninstalled on the computer. Consider whether or not you have recently installed/uninstalled any programs. It could also have been created by some type of malware.

Incomplete Removal of Malware and Missing dll Files

In some cases, when malware such as spyware and viruses are removed from a computer using an anti-virus application, a trace of the application that has been removed remains on the computer. Typically, upon boot up, an error message may appear indicating that the file cannot be found. This is because the malware application has been removed, but a trace of it still remains in the computer's start up. Scan the computer with several different anti-virus/anti-spyware applications in an attempt to remove all traces of any malware that might have infected your computer.

Replace dll Files

If you believe the missing dll files are legitimate and can you pinpoint the most likely application they belong to, uninstall and reinstall the application. If all goes well, any missing dll files should be replaced upon a successful installation.

Conduct a Clean Boot Up of the Computer

One of the strategies that you can use in an attempt to resolve the problem is to perform a clean boot of your computer using the directions found at Microsoft Support.

Summary: Missing dll files can create annoying problems booting up a computer. How can you rid your computer of problems related to missing dll files?

Fixing DLL Problems

A few days ago, my computer started generating the following error on boot-up: Error loading khedbc.dll. The specified module could not be found. How do I solve this?Celeste Stewart

KHEDBC.DLL Errors

There doesn't appear to be much information about khedbc.dll and its function. However, that doesn't mean you're out of luck. DLL files are system and program files known as Dynamic Library Link files. Think of DLL files like software building blocks. For example, common software functions like printing or uploading files to a server are used across multiple programs. Rather than creating these functions from scratch, developers often use DLLs. Windows computers are preloaded with hundreds of DLLs and many more are installed with other programs. Not only does this make it easier for developers to create programs, it makes the programs smaller because many of the components required are already on the users' systems.

Problems arise when DLLs disappear or become damaged. This can happen in many ways including uninstalling other programs (and agreeing to remove "shared system files"), power surges, virus attacks, and accidental deletion.

Restoring DLL Files

There are several ways to restore DLL files. In your case, since this just happened a few days ago, the easiest option is to use System Restore (if enabled). System Restore takes periodic snapshots of your system files so that should something go awry, you can restore those files. What's neat about this utility is it doesn't affect your data. It simply rolls back your system to an earlier date when all of its system files were intact. Your data files remain safe and sound. You may need to reinstall any programs installed after the restore point as well as re-update your operating system and antivirus programs.

Go to Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore and choose a restore point from before the problem occurred. Follow the prompts and your problem should soon be solved.

System File Checker

Another option for restoring DLL files, is the System File Checker. Because many DLL files are considered system files, this tool is often effective at restoring them. Go to Start > Run and type in: sfc /scannow

This tool scans your system to make sure all of the system files are present and in good condition. If not, for example, if an expected DLL file is missing, the tool will replace the missing or damaged file with a clean copy. You may be prompted to insert your Windows installation disk so that the utility can copy the missing file back into place or your computer may have a hidden partition containing Windows setup files. Have your disk handy just in case.

Software and DLLs

If you recently installed or uninstalled software just before the DLL went missing, it's possible that either the new installation overwrote the DLL or the uninstall removed it. If you know which program it was, try reversing the process (either uninstalling or reinstalling).

Hopefully System Restore will be available to you and solve this pesky missing DLL file.
