I have an issue with missing oleaut32.dll not allowing the laptop to boot. However, I don't have a CD or CD drive. I do have 3 USB drives. How can I fix my problem?
The oleaut32.dll file is important and without it, your laptop won't boot up. It would be much easier to address the problem of a missing oleaut32.dll with a CD and CD drive available. However, if you can access another computer and research the necessary steps for the method you choose, you might be able to fix the missing DLL error.
Booting into Safe Mode to Get Around Startup Errors
Quite often, booting up into Safe Mode does not work on the first try. It is important to go through the motions several times in your efforts to get past the startup error and get your laptop up and running. Safe Mode does not use the oleaut32.dll, which is why you can boot up in Safe Mode even when the computer is missing the oleaut32.dll.

Creating a Bootable USB Key
Since you have access to USB ports, you can create a bootable USB key that you can use to boot up the laptop. This isn't going to be an easy or simple task since you don't have access to a bootable CD that you can copy to your USB stick. Borrow a computer from a friend to create your bootable USB key.
Windows Vista and 7 Users and the System Repair Disc
If you are fortunate to be using Windows Vista or Windows 7, it might be possible for you to repair your operating system simply by borrowing a Windows System Repair Disc and computer with both a CD drive and a USB drive. You'll need to copy the Windows System Repair Disc to your USB stick. Now comes the hard part. You need to change your laptop's boot up mode to USB drive. In order to do so, you need to get into the BIOS to switch this method of booting up. Please note that the repair disc/USB does not reinstall your operating system. It can only be used to repair it.
