I am getting a error upon booting up my laptop "error loading c:windowskbdsnb.dll." However when I search for that dll on the net, it does not seem to exist? What is this error and how do I fix it? Also, I get an error message on start up of computer indicating oqaqugar.dll can't be found. Ever heard of this? What do I do?Susan Keenan

In many cases, missing dll files are relatively new ones when information on them cannot be discovered through a basic internet search. This could mean that the dll is part of a malware application that is trying to disguise itself or it may be part of a relatively new software application.

Missing DLL File Windowskbdsnb

It is possible that your missing dll file Windowskbdsnb is related to HP software, a virus, or some other program. If you are using HP, then the file could be a legitimate one. However, it would probably look like kdbstub instead of kbdsnb. Therefore, it is easy to imagine that this dll error might actually be related to a virus infection that was either partially removed or remains resident on your computer. A variety of malware have been know to attempt to hide themselves simply by parading around with a dll that resembles a dll from a reputable program.

OQAQUGAR DLL File Missing

A search for the OQAQUGAR DLL File brings up nothing using several different search engines. This would suggest that it is either a relatively new file or a small one that is used rarely. It is possible that the dll file has been created by a recent application that you have installed and subsequently uninstalled on the computer. Consider whether or not you have recently installed/uninstalled any programs. It could also have been created by some type of malware.

Incomplete Removal of Malware and Missing dll Files

In some cases, when malware such as spyware and viruses are removed from a computer using an anti-virus application, a trace of the application that has been removed remains on the computer. Typically, upon boot up, an error message may appear indicating that the file cannot be found. This is because the malware application has been removed, but a trace of it still remains in the computer's start up. Scan the computer with several different anti-virus/anti-spyware applications in an attempt to remove all traces of any malware that might have infected your computer.

Replace dll Files

If you believe the missing dll files are legitimate and can you pinpoint the most likely application they belong to, uninstall and reinstall the application. If all goes well, any missing dll files should be replaced upon a successful installation.

Conduct a Clean Boot Up of the Computer

One of the strategies that you can use in an attempt to resolve the problem is to perform a clean boot of your computer using the directions found at Microsoft Support.

Summary: Missing dll files can create annoying problems booting up a computer. How can you rid your computer of problems related to missing dll files?
