Steps to Open Unknown File Types

Unknown or Unrecognized File Extensions on your computer?

If files wont open on your computer then follow these steps:

Filecure DownloadSTEP ONE - make sure you have the appropriate program installed. If you do and files still wont open then proceed to step two below

STEP TWO - make sure Windows is set to open files with the appropriate program.

The easiest way to do this is to download Filecure and then select the manage tab on the left.

STEP THREE - If the problem persists then download Filecure if you haven’t already, and Click the big green “Start Scan” Button. It takes about 30 seconds to scan your computer for file extension associations. Once the scan is finished you will see if any problems are detected. If so then Click the Green “Fix Now” Button.

STEP FOUR - Try to open your File again, The problem should now be fixed.

    I have a DVD with video-film and like to edit this film. But I cannot read this files in my PC.
    The following folders and files are on DVD:
    Folder VIDEO_TS with files VIDEO_TS.BUP; VIDEO_TS.VOB; VTS_01_0.BUP; VTS_01_0.IFO. VTS_01_1.VOB. VTS_01_2.VOB;
    And folder VIDEO_RM WITH FILES VIDEO_RM.BUP. VIDEO_RM.DAT. VIDEO_RM.IFO.
    How can I covert this files so I can edit this film?

    It’s my understanding that you would need software capable of editing .VOB files. The VOB files are the ones containing the audio and video data. The other files (Video_TS.IFO and Video_TS.BUP) are configuration and configuration backup files.
