Incredimail Update Failure

I cannot get into my Incredimail after I said yes to an update. Now I am getting the following message: “Critical error has occurred. Incredimail cannot continue this session.” I tried rebooting and using restore several times but no luck. Celeste Stewart

System Restore after Update Failures

Okay, so System Restore did not work, correct? Usually, if you have a valid System Restore point from before an update, you can roll back the computer to its previous settings by going to Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore. However, if you don’t have System Restore enabled or the restore points are from long before you installed Incredimail, then it won’t be of much help. Since System Restore didn’t do the trick, let’s see what else we can come up with.

Known Incredimail Update Issues

In the Incredimail Help Center, there’s a section titled Incredimail Upgrade - Known Issues. It lists two known issues with upgrades: a reboot loop issue and an installation script / fatal error. Links are provided for downloading the appropriate fixes. Unfortunately, this page is not dated, so it’s unclear whether these are old issues or current ones. In any case, the second issue’s solution should work for you as it provides a link to a “fixed version of the Incredimail upgrade.”

Reinstall Incredimail

Another option is to reinstall Incredimail from scratch. Incredimail claims that you do not need to first uninstall Incredimail. However, if the reinstall fails, you’d be smart to uninstall the original copy. If you uninstall the program first, you will likely need to reenter your information including your e-mail account settings as well as your contact list, so uninstall the program as a last resort.

If you are using the paid version of Incredimail and have lost your registration codes, Incredimail has a form that you can use to retrieve your product registration codes. You will need your original e-mail address that you used when you purchased the product in order for the retrieval form to work. Hopefully, that won’t be necessary.

Proposed second solution worked fine. All back in order. Also suggest that your email address book and important messages be saved in seperate file and/or drive.
Thank you kindly for excellent service.

I am desparate to retrieve my password so that I can use my IncrediMail account. I had the harddrive cleaned because of bad performance, and I was completely lost my addressbook, my e-mail, and had to rei-install my IncrediMail. They will not authorize my use because I cannot remember my password/username. How in heck can I remember all that for years? There must be a simple way for it to be retrieved which does not require so much hassle. Please help and advise.
