I am trying to print on and Epson c1100. It has a paper jam and is stuck.

Epson C1100 Printer Paper Jams: Check for Paper Scraps

It is possible that paper scraps have become jammed in your Epson printer. If this is the case, then you need to be careful to get all of the paper out of the printer. Even the tiniest scrap can upset the performance of the printer. First, you need to disconnect the printer from both the computer and the power source.

If you can't see the scraps, paper is most likely stuck inside the printer. Check several different areas:

• Jam MP- Check the MP tray which is located near the bottom of the printer. You will need to open it so that you can look inside.
• Jam C- Check the top of the printer in the back by lifting the cover and checking the feed.
• Jam D- Check the top/back of the printer by opening the top lid all of the way.
• Jam LC- Check the paper cassette that holds the blank paper.

Once you have finished removing the jammed paper, reassemble your printer.

Epson C1100 Printer Paper Jams: Specific Instructions

When the paper jams, unlock the paper release lever by pulling it forward to the front of the printer. Take any printed pages out of the exit tray and remove any paper that remains in the paper tray. Close the exit tray securely.

• Open the front cover of the Epson printer. Be careful, internal components might be hot.
• Grasp the toner cartridge with one hand while resting the other hand on the top of the printer. Use the molded center grip. Pull upward on it so it unlocks and you can lift it out. (You'll need to tilt the front of the cartridge downward and slide it. Make sure it is level when removing it.) Please note that the toner cartridge will be difficult to remove if this is where the paper has become jammed.
• Remove any jammed paper that is lodged in the toner cartridge by pulling it forward. If you pull it toward the rear, you will damage the toner.
• Look inside for any additional paper and carefully remove it.
• Reseat the toner cartridge and close the front cover.
• Open the tray where paper exits.
• Reseat the stack of paper that sits inside the printer.
• Find the paper release lever and push it toward the rear of the printer.

While it might not seem to make much sense, most printers will not function properly if one or more of its components are ajar. Double check that each moveable part of the printer is securely in place.

Printers need to be cleaned and/or serviced on occasion. If this printer has not been recently cleaned or checked by a technician, now would be an excellent time. This strategy may also repair the problem.

Epson C1100 Printer Paper Jams: Sensor

Paper jam messages can appear even when no paper jam exists. When the sensor becomes stuck, it needs to be reset in order for the printer to function properly again. On the Epson C1100, open the back of the printer. Make sure that you unplug the printer form the power source and computer first. Look for a small, black lever. Try to wiggle the lever. If it is stuck, then you need to remove the back paper guide to the printer so that you can reseat the black lever. Once you do so, the printer should function properly.
