Regcure gets stuck

Is your computer an Open Invitation for HACKERS? Download free version of Sparktrust Inspector to identify vulnerabilities and problems on your computer (and even your WEBSITES)!

I downloaded and ran the 'free' version. Every time I run it, it gets as far as "program shortcuts" and quits with message, "RegCure Application has encountered a problem and needs to quit...", and it quits. It will run the remaining items if I uncheck 'shortcuts'. I'm hesitant to buy it if it won't scan all items. Suggestion?

Susan KeenanRegcure Problems due to Resident Antivirus Programs

RegCure can encounter problems running due to the resident scanners of antivirus applications that are installed on the computer. In particular, these scanners can affect the speed with which Regcure runs even to the point of causing it to freeze or quit. In order to resolve this issue, you should disable the resident scanner of your antivirus application while running Regcure. The resident scanner is also referred to as the autoprotect or realtime scanner. You can also try disabling any secondary antivirus applications that you have installed while running RegCure. Just remember to reinstall or enable your antivirus protection so that you do not leave your computer open to potential threats.

RegCure Problems: Tips

Try each of the following tips in your efforts to get RegCure to function properly:

  • Close all other applications when scanning your computer with RegCure.
  • Uninstall and reinstall RegCure in case you experienced a faulty installation.
  • Try checking shortcuts alone without checking other items.

RegCure Problems: Help File

RegCure has a handy help file built right into the application. Once you open RegCure, you can open the help file by clicking on the link titled "Help" in the main window on the right-hand side of the screen. You have the opportunity to browse through these files and you can print them if you want as well.

If RegCure still will not run, try uninstalling the application and then reinstalling it. It's possible the download didn't complete properly.
