Confusion between the Student CD-ROM and the Software

Many students have enrolled in courses that use the Keyboarding Deluxe curriculum. As part of the course, they receive a book that comes with a student CD-ROM. However, the Keyboarding Deluxe Pro software is a separate purchase. The student CD-ROM contains data files and companion exercises that are part of the workbook. It does not include the actual Keyboarding Pro Deluxe software.

Where is the Keyboarding Pro Deluxe File?

The software uses Microsoft Word 2007 as part of the exercises. You must save these files. Depending on your settings, the documents can either be sent to the instructor automatically or manually attached. If you are manually attaching them, you will need to know exactly where they are located. To send the files automatically, go to the Edit menu and click the Distance Learning tab. Click Preferences and choose the Send Files Automatically option. For manually sending the files, you will need to click Send Files.

Depending on where your installation of the Keyboarding Pro Deluxe application is located as well as any choices you made when saving files, your files may be located in any number of locations. Keyboarding Pro Deluxe typically installs in the Program Files folder. Look for the Keyboarding Pro Deluxe sub-directory and then look for the folder named “Student Files.” That’s where your files should be located.
