How do I Remove MalwareWipe?

Here’s how to Completey Remove Malware

Malwarewipe is the latest in a particularly long list of rogue anti-spyware. Typically, this kind of software is covertly installed on your computer using a Trojan or other malicious application. Once it has been installed it will display fake warnings advising you that you have contracted spyware and should act immediately to remove that spyware from your computer. The irony, of course, is that the only spyware it can truly detect is itself. Malwarewipe does not detect and cannot remove any spyware or other malware from your system so do not click on any links.

What Does Rogue Anti-Spyware Do?

The intention behind Malwarewipe and any other rogue anti-spyware is to scare you into purchasing the “full” version of the software that will allegedly remove all spyware from your system. You will be provided with a link to a payment page where you are prompted to hand over personal details and your credit card details. Be aware that if you have already clicked this link and made the purchase then short of canceling the payment and informing your credit card company of what has happened there is very little you can do apart from uninstall the program and all of its component files and mark it down to experience.

Uninstall The Malwarewipe Program

The first step is to check your add/remove programs list on Windows for any evidence of Malwarewipe. To do this click on your “Start” menu and click “Control Panel”. Choose Add/Remove Programs from the list and wait for the resulting list to be populated. Look for any programs called Malwarewipe and click the “Remove” button. Unfortunately, even if you do find this program in the list, removing it is unlikely to herald the end of your problems. Malwarewipe and other rogue anti-spyware are created in such a way that it not only installs itself but is able to continue doing so after you remove it. Also, unless you remove the Trojan responsible for installing the program in the first place, there is nothing to prevent it from happening again.

Removing Registry Entries

Navigate to the following folder and remove everything that you find in there. C:\Program Files\Malwarewipe. In particular, there is likely to be an executable file called Malwarewipe.exe that you should completely delete from your computer. This means deleting it, preferably with a secure deletion tool, and then removing it from your deleted items.

You should also remove all instances of the following registry entries:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Interface\{0B595E3D-27BE-4DA1-A278-CA4D904B5823} HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Interface\{1D1E9B3D-5A4C-4C70-A9B4-5A19E0C625DC} HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Interface\{2A34546C-C437-460A-88AF-D4703A548EA9} HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Interface\{3D9FD47C-E0B5-4005-9ADE-552980D3761F} HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Interface\{3E5B0894-FE91-4063-BB41-D885C7691581} HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Interface\{479B1AEA-4414-4E43-8CBF-94BFC7C69B56} HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Interface\{4A2ECC12-46BA-4C52-9749-C0FAF38D507B} HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Interface\{4D6079CB-FD9E-46AF-A896-6E8582E52827} HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Interface\{511A9BB1-917A-414A-88FD-3128E37032A1} HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Interface\{8CBED98F-8DDD-4AF0-A9EA-C75E10C937BC} HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Interface\{A44CAB15-6B7E-406B-9D9B-B1C1C6BA8CDB} HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Interface\{A99AC77F-4DE5-4AA2-810A-35FAB5FC114B} HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Interface\{B74B2B6C-9B8D-47D9-872F-E83D475AAF34} HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Interface\{CE5ECF63-6065-4B92-8B7E-72B5042C2F25} HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Interface\{D4BFBB89-4BC5-4D13-8D3A-75EDCC0CF50C} HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Interface\{E86D0281-FA5A-4E36-B993-84FD87DA9DF1} HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\AppID\{70F17C8C-1744-41B6-9D07-575DB448DCC5} HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{A5C70510-5A01-B2A5-CF84-D6DC13859967} HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\AppID\Malwarewipe.EXE HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\TypeLib\{177E74D6-E1D1-4D15-9D36-85399BA00729} HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths\Malwarewipe.exe HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Malwarewipe HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Malwarewipe HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Interface\{0B595E3D-27BE-4DA1-A278-CA4D904B5823} HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Interface\{1D1E9B3D-5A4C-4C70-A9B4-5A19E0C625DC} HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Interface\{2A34546C-C437-460A-88AF-D4703A548EA9} HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Interface\{3D9FD47C-E0B5-4005-9ADE-552980D3761F} HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Interface\{3E5B0894-FE91-4063-BB41-D885C7691581} HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Interface\{479B1AEA-4414-4E43-8CBF-94BFC7C69B56} HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Interface\{4A2ECC12-46BA-4C52-9749-C0FAF38D507B} HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Interface\{4D6079CB-FD9E-46AF-A896-6E8582E52827} HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Interface\{511A9BB1-917A-414A-88FD-3128E37032A1} HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Interface\{8CBED98F-8DDD-4AF0-A9EA-C75E10C937BC} HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Interface\{A44CAB15-6B7E-406B-9D9B-B1C1C6BA8CDB} HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Interface\{A99AC77F-4DE5-4AA2-810A-35FAB5FC114B} HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Interface\{B74B2B6C-9B8D-47D9-872F-E83D475AAF34} HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Interface\{CE5ECF63-6065-4B92-8B7E-72B5042C2F25} HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Interface\{D4BFBB89-4BC5-4D13-8D3A-75EDCC0CF50C} HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Interface\{E86D0281-FA5A-4E36-B993-84FD87DA9DF1} HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\AppID\{70F17C8C-1744-41B6-9D07-575DB448DCC5} HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{A5C70510-5A01-B2A5-CF84-D6DC13859967} HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\AppID\Malwarewipe.EXE HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\TypeLib\{177E74D6-E1D1-4D15-9D36-85399BA00729} HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths\Malwarewipe.exe HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Malwarewipe HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Malwarewipe

A Poor Performing PC

As you can see, Malwarewipe installs a lot of files and folders on your computer and creates an incredible amount of registry entries. This alone is enough to cause your computer to slow to a near stand still, never mind the possibility of taking personal details.

Using Removal Software

Always be aware that any spyware that installs using a Trojan, such as Malwarewipe, could potentially be packaged with other malware applications and programs. For this reason you are well advised to use a dedicated removal tool or a full, and proper, anti-spyware suite.

Malwarewipe Remover

There are specific programs available that will safely remove all traces of Malwarewipe from your computer. These can be found in various places on the Internet. Essentially these programs perform the actions above but they also scan your computer to find any more potential instances of the Malwarewipe files and entries.

Other Beneficial Software

Anti-spyware software can be used to remove Malwarewipe and any other spyware on your computer. By doing so it can improve your computer’s performance and protect your privacy. You should also use an anti-virus application to assist in removing the Trojan that originally installed the spyware. A lot of Trojans are capable of updating themselves and even reinstalling themselves and only through the effective use of powerful anti-virus and anti-spyware tools can you be absolutely certain you have cleared your computer of the main threats.
